Oasis news: Liam Gallagher and Noel Gallagher ‘almost CERTAIN’ for reunion this year | Music | Entertainment

An Oasis reunion looks increasingly likely, if bookmakers’ forecasts are anything to go by, as Coral have now suspended betting on the band getting back together this year. Speaking exclusively to, a spokesman for the bookies said the Britpop group’s potential comeback had prompted an “abnormal” number of bets in recent days.

“We have suspended betting on an Oasis reunion as we feel this is almost certain to happen now in 2020,” Coral’s John Hill said.

“The abnormal numbers of bets we have taken on this reunion points to the Gallagher brothers getting back together this year.”

Bookies suspend betting for one of two reasons: either because they have taken a substantial amounts of bets or when they believe something looks almost certain to happen.

Hill said: “We have been knocked over with bets on Oasis reuniting later in 2020 and as a result we have pulled the plug on this market now.

“If this latest gamble is landed, it gives Oasis fans something to look forward to later this year,” he added

The bookmakers received such a large number of bets on Oasis getting back together in 2020 that they decided to suspend betting for now.

Before the suspension, the band were as short as 1/2 to reunite this year.

Shortly after Coral pulled the plug on betting, Liam appeared to drop another hint about a potential comeback for the Kings of Britpop.

Just days later, he said he was finished pleading with Noel to agree to an Oasis reunion.

Rite sick of pleading begging etc no more olive branches,”(sic) he tweeted.

“I DEMAND an Oasis reunion after this is all over all money going to NHS c’mon you know. As we were.”

Oasis split in 2009 amid ongoing in-fighting between the Gallagher brothers.

Their relationship doesn’t appear to have improved much in the years since and Noel has been dismissive of Liam’s claims a reunion is on the cards.

The younger Gallagher previously said Noel had turned down an offer for £100 million to bring the band back and has since told NME: “It’s gonna happen very f***ing soon because [Noel is] greedy and he loves money and he knows that it’s got to happen soon or it won’t happen.”

Noel, however, hit back on Twitter, denying the validity of his brother’s comments.

“I’d like to point out AGAIN that I’m not aware of any offer of any amount of money to reform the legendary rock ’n’ roll outfit Oasis,” he told his 1.2 million followers.

“I think someone has still someone else’s tunes to promote,” he added. “So that’s maybe what’s causing the confusion.”
