Madden 20 hilariously trolls Tom Brady after QB disputes his rating | NFL | Sport

It is that time of year again when EA Sports release its player ratings for their upcoming video game Madden NFL 20 and unsurprisingly several players, including Tom Brady are unhappy about several stats they have been given.

On Monday Brady posted a video on himself running a sub 1-second 40-yard dash on Twitter – according to the clip he actually ran it in 0.63722.

The 41-year-old New England Patriots quarterback captioned the video: “Submitting new evidence to be considered for my @MaddenNFL speed rating.

“You can’t photoshop a video.”

Although Madden wasted little time in responding with their own animated clip, using footage from their soon-to-be released game.

The clip shows Patriots tight end Steven Anderson walking along the sideline high-fiving his team-mates.

As he approaches Brady, who is sat on the end of the bench with his hand ready, Anderson completely ignores the six-time Super Bowl winner and walks straight past him.

Fortunately for Brady though, his close friend Julian Edelman is on hand to provide him with a consolatory high-five.

The EA Sports Madden NFL 20 account captioned the video on Twitter: “Celebrating your record breaking performance in Madden 20.”

But that wasn’t the end of it as Brady took to Instagram to respond, he said: “This is what I get for breaking the EA Madden NFL curse.”

The curse in question is a respond over the years to several players having poor performance or injury after having been on the cover of the game, which unexpectedly has happened quite a few times.

Brady was on the cover back in 2017 for ‘Madden NFL 18’ and at the time insisted there is no such thing as curses.

Since then he has made it to two straight Super Bowls, winning the last one when New England beat the Los Angeles Rams 13-3 in Atlanta.

Brady has taken some time in the off-season to remind people he still has what it takes to compete in the league despite entering his 20th season in the NFL this year.

The 14-time Pro Bowler recently took to Instagram to prove you don’t need speed when you still have a cannon for an arm and posted a picture of a radar gun reading 61 mph, which presumably had just clocked one of his throws. It was captioned: “He’s gonna fall off a cliff”.

He might be a four-time Super Bowl MVP but the veteran quarterback has successfully used grudges as motivation to achieve his goals.

If the speed is accurate it would place him second on a list of NFL Scouting Combine passing velocities since 2008, with Brady being just behind Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen, who clocked 62 mph.

Last season’s MVP Patrick Mahomes, has also managed to throw a 62 mph ball when he visited the NFL Network during the pre-draft process in 2017, but the now Kansas City Chiefs quarterback was well-off target with the pass at the time.

Mahomes, who is known for his arm strength and is on the cover of Madden 20, also recently demonstrated his arm strength when he threw a ball out of Arrowhead Stadium, so we will have to wait and see if Brady, who was given a 96 overall rating for the game, will try a similar feat at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough.
